The SLC GHOST TOURS *SPOOOOKYYY GHOST!*

Hello all! Travis here giving you the dirt on our slc ghost tour. It began behind the rio grande railroad station, it was a first for the three of us, Molly, myself and jt. The first major difference was the mode of transportation... the ogden ride consisted of a big yellow school bus, while the slc transport was a big travel bus equipped with televisions personal ac... the works, normally used to take the elderly to wendover aka: the fun bus. We learned of the shilo inn where a mother threw her kids out of a window, the rio station where a purple lady died on the railroad tracks and hasnt left the station, and the likes here are the orbs that we captured on our tour.

It is an honor just to be nominated....

Thanks Janalyn for liking our blog.  I love reading Win and Rob

Wedding pictures

Travis was able to scan in our wedding pictures onto our computer. (some of the pictures are from our engagement and when we first started dating) We got married at 6:00 PM on May 16, 2004 at the Chapel by the Bay, Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, NV. My Maid of Honor was my best friend, Janalyn and Travis had his Dad be his best man.   It was pretty warm out and the guys were really hot in their suits. The weirdest part about getting married in Vegas was when I walked through the casino to get to the chapel, random people would just say congratulations to you because you were in a wedding dress. It was pretty funny. After we got married, we went up to a suite and had wedding cake. It was really delicious. We didn't really have any food in the suite so the party broke up pretty early. For our wedding dinner, we ended up eating at the food court in the Luxor. It was a nice wedding and was perfect for us. :)

Ghost Tour!

It looks like a light is there in the second window from the right....

But then it isn't there anymore.

Last night, Trav, me, my parents, Trav's parents, Stephanie, Yia Yia and Papou (Greek for Grandma and Grandpa), Grams (Trav's other Grandma) and JT all went on the Ghost Tours Ogden. We all loaded on a yellow school bus, (with about 50 other people) and went on a tour of downtown Ogden. I don't know if you are familiar with downtown, but at one point in history, Utah used to be a very hoppin town. It was a central hub for the railroad. People would come from all over the country to visit 25th Street. We learned all about the underground tunnels that ran the length of 25th Street (that were first used by the porters and bell boys to deliver luggage from the train station to the hotels that ran all up and down the street, but later were used by the Chinese gangs to sell opium in). 25th Street itself was once the murder capital of the world. (not all of Ogden JUST 25th Street.) It had a bunch of gangs (one of the Chinese gangs were so brutal that they would wear axes in the sleeves of their clothes and if you double crossed them then you would end up hacked to bit and left in a prominant part of the street so that you would be an example of what would happen to double-crossers.) And don't even get me started about all the brothels and prostitutes that lived on the street. It was very interesting tour and surprisingly took the whole of 2 hours. We heard all about 25th street, like I said, the Egyptian Theatre, Victorian House (a house on Washington Blvd.), Farr's Ice Cream, The Ben Lomond Hotel, The Union Station and Ogden Cemetary. I don't know if you believe in ghosts or spirits (Both Travis and I do. I even have a story about what I saw, that I will tell a little later) but we were lucky enough to get some pictures of orbs (which some believe are spirits or entities that are captured on film). The cemetary was very creepy and Travis got a great picture of an orb that seems to move across the screen (oh and it isn't the moon, the moon wasn't even out last night at 7:30)

It was a creepy experience, which was perfect for Halloween, and oh so fun! We might actually go on the Salt Lake one next week!

Seattle, here we come!!!!!!

I just booked Travis and me a vacation to visit my sister and her family in Seattle. Can't wait. It has been too long since I have visited the Fitzgerald clan! It has been at least 3 years. I wish I could see Kaity more too. She is 14 already. I can still remember the day she was born. Eric has gotten huge too. I can't believe how fast they all grow up. Wow, times flies. I am so happy to be going up there. I don't know if you have ever found a place where you feel like you are completely at home, but that is my place. I have my best friend living up there and one of my sisters up there too. I love it there. I love everything about it. When Travis graduated I was secretly praying that he would get a job there. Unfortunately, there was a different path for us than that. :) Anyways, I now am counting down the days until we go. I can't wait! It is going to be a long three months!!!!!

Cutest Pictures Ever

Let me start off by saying I know I am turning into a crazy lady that brags about her animals, but I can't change my situation. (If I didn't have my husband I would be the dog equivalent of a crazy cat lady!) After I come home from school, Kimi likes to lay in the sunshine. It is so cute as you see. I have finally been able to get pictures of her in her favorite spot. :)

Into a new season

Fall, I think is officially over. We are suppose to have snow this weekend. Crazy, seems like just last week when I was commenting on how pretty all the leaves were. Now it is going to be cold and snowy for months to come. :) Oh well, I am living in Utah. What can you expect but changing weather all the time.
It is not only a change in yearly seasons, but a change in seasons at the Soderquist house. This is the first week in a while that I have felt we are back into a routine. Trav works all day and come home to follow the cooking instructions on our blackboard to make dinner. I go to school for the first half of the day then go to work the last half. It has been a crazy few months, but now everything has settled down. I am loving school, as I have said before. Now I love work too (Thanks, Jenny for telling me about the job). I started working at Jones Waldo, a law firm in SLC, as a receptionist. On their website, they have links to all their attorneys. I love reading their biographies and what law cases they like to practice. My plan is to read all their biographies a floor at a time, but this is proving way more time consuming than I thought. I have read about 15 biographies but I get side tracked with all the articles they have linked to their pages. I start reading court cases or about awards they have received. I find it so interesting. And all the time the attorneys are walking around probably thinking I am just screwing around on the Internet. If they only knew, I am reading about what cases they have been a part of. I have been told I should be a lawyer and I now I see why. I love to read the cases and hear how they won. I was reading about an attorney who works a lot with cases involving trade-secrets and there was a link to one of his cases. I decided to read about it. I started to chuckle to myself (as one of the attorneys was walking by) as I read the defendant : CR Bard. (that is the company Travis works for.) Well I won't bore you with the details, but CR Bard was accused of stealing some guys design for a stomach thing and pretty much found guilty that they did. After work the day I read that, I told Trav about the case and he responded by saying that CR Bard's stomach division has been in trouble for a while. lol Leave it to Travis to make it all seem ok that his company broke the law. I love it! I am sure there are many more cases to study (hopefully not about CR Bard). I don't think I will become a great lawyer, but maybe I could design websites for lawyers and then I could just read all their cases. That sounds good too! :)

Dinosaur Museum Last Saturday 9/27/08

Last weekend, we took my nephews to the Dinosaur Museum @ Thanksgiving Point as part of our sleepover at our apartment. At first they weren't too happy about having me pose them for pictures, but eventually they ended up loving it and even started playing along with the photos. :) At one point in the day, Tabor actually started ordering me to take pictures of this dinosaur and that one. (That is why it started out as pictures with just the boys and Travis then evolved into a fossil-picture-taking outing.) We had so much fun. Thanks boys for coming over and having a great Sleepover. Hope your parents had a fun weekend off! :)

It's the little things

So as most of you know, I have started to go to school for Web Programming. I totally love it and wish I could just work on websites all day. While I have only been in school for the past month, I have totally found my niche.  I can't wait to start working either for a business or for our own company.
I do have to thank my husband, who has been so supportive. Also I have to also apologize to him. (mark this on your calendar because it doesn't happen all the time that I apologize for anything.)  When he was learning about Flash (which is a program that you create websites and animations in) at Weber, I used to make fun of him when he couldn't get one of his buttons or animations to work.  I never understood why he got so upset about something so stupid. This is why I have to apologize. Ok so now I totally understand. Yesterday, I spend the better part of TWO hours trying to get a "stupid button" to turn from a link to a "return to the homepage" button.  I kid you not, if I had not been sitting in a classroom setting, I would have been saying a few choice words at my computer.  I have never been so frustrated, but found so much humor in a situation.  So, sorry honey, for making fun. I totally understand now.  :)
