Child Abuse or Cute?

Soder thinks I am going overboard when I try hats on the baby. He said that with some of the faces the baby pulls that it should be considered child abuse. I think they are so cute and funny that all the hats now have little ears and other characteristics of the animal on them. I can't get enough. My mother actually bought him the little raccoon hat (along with the adorable outfit that he will grow into), but the others were borrowed for a second from the display racks at the Gap. If this keeps up, I might have to go to baby hats anonymous.

Thing two and the chicken

Since Thing Two has been so into the squirrels lately, I decided to look on Netflix for some dog appropriate movie. I found a movie about chickens that PBS had created. I turned it on and crazy Thing Two sat there for about 45 minutes watching it. And every time the chickens or roosters made any chicken related sound he would cock his head to one side to listen. I think I was more entertained than he was, regardless it was a great time for all.

A reason to smile today

Liam loves to laugh during his bath. Apparently, the sour cream container and his dad are more entertaining than any of the toys we have bought. (except, of course, for his latest toy, that is still heaven sent.)

In case you were wondering where the Geeks are hiding!

My husband has been so happy since we have moved here because of one thing and one thing only... Emerald City Comicon. (you may have heard of The Comicon that is held in San Diego every year that draws hundred of thousands of people, this one is for the northwest. There are others held in other cities like Chicago and New York.) Anyways, this weekend was THE weekend for Emerald City. At this comicon, prospective artists have the opportunity to show their portfolios to actual artists in the comic book field. Travis has been working on his for about 4 weeks every night. Over the last 7 years he has come so far and spent so much time on his drawing. Being a comic book artist has always been his dream. He had set himself up to expect just some critiques of his work this time and then he would come back next year with something even better. Yesterday must have been his lucky day! (he is also very talented, but their has to be another explanation as well because this kinda stuff doesn't happen every day.) He took his portfolio up to Marvel, yes, THE Marvel Comics, and they told him they would like to start a dialogue with him, meaning that they would start emailing correspondence and provide him with scripts that he would in turn illustrate. While it isn't a job, it is the first step to being signed by Marvel as an actual comic book artist. HOLY COW! How did this happen!!!
Here are also some of the 'characters' he saw there.
I think Green Lantern has really let himself go.Of course Darth and his Storm Troopers would be there. Captain America (I don't really know if he needed the fake muscles!) and Deadpool.
Maybe Captain America could lend Superman some of his muscles. And why is Batman hanging out with some hippie.I am so glad that I didn't end up going, this is the exact outfit that I was going to wear. ;)Piccolo from DragonBall Z, Travis' favorite animeWhile it was not a family affair, I could see in the future our kid being at one of these conventions dressed up as Spiderman, or Batman, or the Hulk, or.......

Random stuff from the weekend...

This weekend has been a busy one.  We have visited both sets of parents,  went to an outdoor concert, did a little work, had a movie night (watching the Terminator, and Star Trek Undiscovered Country), a barbeque, breakfast with my best friend, the dog park, dinner at a new pizza joint.  Fun for us, nothing to complain about.   The best part of everything is of course the laughter.  We were lucky enough to have our camera with us to help tell this story.
As I said we watched the Terminator.  This last week, a billboard was put up in on our drive to work/school that shows a "highway patrol man" on a billboard that read, "I see you Mr. drunk driver." It is a very strong billboard, but maybe the timing might not be the best.  With all the advertisements for the new Terminator movie that was released last weekend, both my husband and I came home and asked each other if we had seen it. We both laughed because immediately our minds went to the Terminators and how we pictured it coming after us.
(Imagine seeing a "Highway patrol man" chasing you down to pull you over.) It would be even more disturbing if you were actually drunk to see this thing chasing you down.  So that was good for a laugh.  Then the next day we were driving to work/school and noticed that the mannequin was gone/missing.  That was even more funny because then it seemed to come true that the "highway patrol man" really did go after someone.  Thankfully yesterday he had returned to his post and we were relieved that he was back looking for more drunk drivers.

The other hysterical thing was as we were driving home from the pizza place, we were stopped at a red light.   We looked over and saw this car...
It looks like it is screaming or angry.  We both started laughing and we came to the conclusions that it was screaming because it was priced at $32000  (and was a Nissan) and it thought it was too much money.
Anyways, I hope everyone had a safe Memorial day weekend.

Craziness in the pack!

When we were out a few weeks ago we stopped at Trolley Square to eat lunch at Rodizio Grill. It was so good, if you get a chance you should definitely try it. Afterwards it was serious meat-hangover, but it was so worth it. After lunch we went shopping at the few stores left at poor Trolley Square.  My dad found these goggles in a store so he bought them. Of course, we all had to try them on.  Good times!  We were laughing so hard.  Love the pictures!

Grossest thing of the day.

A client came out of the bathroom, and proceeded to make a cell phone call at the end of the hallway in front of my desk. As he started to talk, he put his hand down the back of his pants. Not like he was fixing his belt, but like he was fixing his underwear or the back of his jeans. I just kinda was taken back and laughing (again) in my head at such an odd event. What person does that in public? I made sure when he asked for validation, that I let him put his own stickers on and I didn't touch anything of his! There isn't enough sanitizer in the world!

Crazy Postal Worker

This holiday season, I have been going to a little post office in North Salt Lake for all my stamps and such. There is a little old man that tells the craziest stories every time I have been in there. The first time I went in there I was buying some postcard stamps that have fruit on them (like mangos, and starfruit). The little old man started talking about some fruit that is Japanese and is like an apple/plum hybrid thing. I don't know but it was funny. He was totally trying to sell me on how delicious it was (which i don't doubt the fruit would be, but it was pretty funny on how he was talking about it. ) Anyways, today I went in to mail a package. There was a line of about 5 people and this guy isn't the fastest worker. (he seems to have all the time in the world) I was about 3rd in line. He starts telling the lady at the front about how women are very perceptive about the situation and loading the dishwasher at his house. Once he started talking about loading his dishwasher, the old lady behind me in line let out an audible groan. I found the whole situation funny. I bet she has heard a few "Asian fruit stories"! :)

The reason I am going to hell....

So a guy named Hu (pronounced Who) just came into the firm. I was trying to locate the attorney and all I could play in my head was the Abbott and Costello bit, "Who's on first?" The client was Asian and that makes it even more funny to me. I am sitting her just laughing to myself because I keep playing in my head how the conversation would have gone. "Hello this is Molly at the front desk and there is a Hu waiting for you?" The secretary would say, "Who?"
Molly: "Yeah that is right." And this would continue on for a while until I would just completely lose it. I am so amused right now, and I think the fact that it is Friday has something to do with it, too. :)
