Before Liam was born, we saw this cute little Spiderman onesie and knew it had to be ours. My husband loves comics and I play along because they have such cute outfits for geeky babies. I don't know what it is, but whenever I take pictures of him in this onesie he pulls the funniest faces!

I have sprayed for radioactive spiders

In case you were wondering where the Geeks are hiding!
My husband has been so happy since we have moved here because of one thing and one thing only... Emerald City Comicon. (you may have heard of The Comicon that is held in San Diego every year that draws hundred of thousands of people, this one is for the northwest. There are others held in other cities like Chicago and New York.) Anyways, this weekend was THE weekend for Emerald City. At this comicon, prospective artists have the opportunity to show their portfolios to actual artists in the comic book field. Travis has been working on his for about 4 weeks every night. Over the last 7 years he has come so far and spent so much time on his drawing. Being a comic book artist has always been his dream. He had set himself up to expect just some critiques of his work this time and then he would come back next year with something even better. Yesterday must have been his lucky day! (he is also very talented, but their has to be another explanation as well because this kinda stuff doesn't happen every day.) He took his portfolio up to Marvel, yes, THE Marvel Comics, and they told him they would like to start a dialogue with him, meaning that they would start emailing correspondence and provide him with scripts that he would in turn illustrate. While it isn't a job, it is the first step to being signed by Marvel as an actual comic book artist. HOLY COW! How did this happen!!!
Here are also some of the 'characters' he saw there.

Maybe Captain America could lend Superman some of his muscles. And why is Batman hanging out with some hippie.
I am so glad that I didn't end up going, this is the exact outfit that I was going to wear. ;)
Piccolo from DragonBall Z, Travis' favorite anime
While it was not a family affair, I could see in the future our kid being at one of these conventions dressed up as Spiderman, or Batman, or the Hulk, or.......

The Hulk and Wonder Woman!

The Divas
The Hulk and Wonder Woman

I am so scared I am trying to hide from her!

See how the Hulk controls!

Again with the controlling!

Wonder Woman knows how to control too!

The Hulk and Wonder Woman
So tonight I called one of my sisters who was having a discussion with her oldest child about a sleepover. My Niece wanted to have a sleep over and my sister (who told me that she will make me pay if I use her name on here. So instead of using her name I will just call her, um.... The Hulk.) told her no because they had family pictures tomorrow to take. I know it is the responsible thing to have Kaity miss her sleepover, but also I remember what it was like to be a kid. I played devils advocate and told Kaity that I remember some of the not responsible things that The Hulk had done. Lets see if I can remembered some of them. She flooded my parents kitchen cabinets having a water fight with some kids in the neighborhood. Her friend and her locked me in a dog kennel when I was about 6. Both the Hulk and Wonderwoman made me ride around in a the back of a Chevette (in like the hatchback) while they went on a trek across Weber and Davis county to find bumper stickers for a radio station. Wonderwoman tied me to a vacuum one time. Maybe Kaity should call Grandma and ask about the grease spot on her couch in her living room that is a reminant from a party the Hulk threw. I know the Hulk is going to freak about this, but I think it is only fair. :) I love my sisters to death and am happy to have them in my life. For all the "mean things" they did to me, there were a lot of times that they were good to me. :) Maybe next time you should cut the kid some slack and let her go to her sleepover! ;)
